One dollar, fifty-eight cents and a mortgage later...

From $.91 to $2.49, we have seen the average price of gas rise over the last thirty years. In the time it takes the average family to pay off a mortgage, thirty years, a lot can happen. Despite the changes that time may bring, one thing has been a constant at Zion (Community) Church of God: our Pastor. On Sunday, January 14, 2018, Pastor Isaac Carter celebrated thirty years of servant leadership to Zion Community Church of God and the surrounding area. In those thirty years, Pastor Cater has established a legacy of leading by example. He has acted as a visionary for the congregation, focusing on individual and collective spiritual growth as well as outreach. Family, friends, other local pastors and their congregations all gathered to celebrate what God has done through him. Highlights of the program included tributes to the pastor and first lady from church auxiliaries and former members who were but babies when Zion came under Pastor Carter's leadership; guest choirs and musical groups; a powerful word from guest speaker, Pastor Calvin Waddy (Central Community Church of God, Jackson, MS). For the current members of Zion, we strive to honor our pastor daily through our obedience in serving, giving, and loving one another. We can't say enough about our first family, who are all active members of Zion. From program printing, piano playing, and lesson teaching, they seem to do a little of it all. Thank you, Pastor Carter and family. May God continue to richly bless you. May He give you vision to lead, strength to endure, and continued passion to pursue the lost.
