Ever felt like you just needed a fresh start? Every 24 hours, we get just that. A new day is a new opportunity to close the gap between who we are and who we want to be. Lamentations 3:23 tells us that 'God’s mercies are new every morning.' Great is His faithfulness to us! This week, as we continue our journey towards spiritual growth and improved overall health, let us be mindful of the gift of a fresh start and begin each day with a step towards success.
In the Conversation Peace study, written by Mary Kassian, we are taught that our tongues navigate. This means that what we speak directs our lives. If we speak good things, our mindset and actions follow. The same is true if we speak negativity. This week, practice speaking the word of God over your life. Start each morning with a devotional or scripture reading coupled with prayer and positive affirmations for your life and the lives of those you love. By making this a habit, we give our spirit man the best chance at true fulfillment of God’s will for us; We ready ourselves to avoid or overcome the pitfalls Satan sets out for us.
By now, you may have surmised the physical task for this week, considering all this talk of early mornings and fresh starts. Why, we are talking about breakfast, of course! So, how important is breakfast, really? Well, studies show that individuals who eat breakfast are not only leaner, but healthier over all. Eating breakfast can have a positive impact on several medical conditions and prevent a few others. In addition, those who eat a good, balanced breakfast are more energized throughout the day and demonstrate improved memory and concentration.
